Just a reminder that the final round of the Oppositelock Forza 6 Endurance Championship at VIR is this Saturday, December 17th at 4:30 PM EST. If you haven’t already, click the link, read the plan, and sign up. Or, if you’ve already read the plan but haven’t signed up yet, click here to go right to the sign up sheet.
In addition if you have finished painting your car, feel free to post it in the official livery thread.
For the race start, we’ll continue with the strategy of calling out a start time rather than trying to go at the line. As the field forms up and we approach the line, I’ll call out a start time, so make sure you’re listening for the race start. We’ll do this for cautions as well. The end of the race will be handled the same as before. Since we are using the timer-based race setup, just keep racing until the timer runs out. Don’t worry about holding position after a certain point or anything like that. Just race until the end.
Now, for voice communication, I have created a Discord server for Oppositelock and Digital Burnouts, and this server will be used at least for the rest of this series and is open for use to anyone running a racing series on either site. Thankfully, if you’ve raced in Cowmaster’s CTSC series, you already have a Discord account and are familiar with using it. If not, you can download it here for free on any desktop or mobile OS.
HERE IS THE SERVER INVITE: https://discord.gg/zWDKRYV
YOU MUST FOLLOW THIS LINK TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE SERVER
Once in the server, all communication between drivers during a race will be done in the Race Chat voice channel, with race-related texts being in the #race_chat text channel.
As for this race’s practice session, it would seem the only time I’m really available to host it is after 11 PM on Friday night, which I imagine might be too late for the majority of you. Either way, I’ll be online to do last minute testing if nothing else. You might see me online at various points so if that’s the case we can get a lobby going and practice, but I can’t set aside an official time to do it since my schedule is just so up in the air right now.
Anyway, race day is getting closer. Hope to see you there for the big finish to a year of racing.
